The Brief.

KEW Technology initially approached us to refresh their corporate visual identity to better reflect the business from that of a start-up tech company to credible pioneers and experts in their marketplace, with unique and proven technology.

After successfully achieving this, it became apparent they needed assistance to develop their brand positioning further, both internally and externally. We worked with them to establish the brand as knowledgeable, credible and innovative. Part of this work was the design and build of a new website that truly reflected the business objectives and brand mission.

Consideration.

To develop and consolidate the new visual identity and create a clear framework for consistent use and application thereafter.

To provide an information site that would stand apart from competitors, attracting potential partners and investors by giving clear information and evidence of their unique technology processes, whilst providing an excellent user journey which would generate engagement.

Solution.

We took their existing logo and refined this as part of a natural progression, to provide a contemporary and flexible logo that could easily be used as an ‘anchor’, ensuring all other sub-brand identities maintained a consistent style, clearly linked to the parent company.

A library of supporting icons was created to explain different elements of their technology clearly, in a visual way, making content easier to understand, thus helping broaden their potential audience. Typefaces were chosen and a variety of assets, including report templates, presentation templates, email signatures, were provided to achieve consistency across all touch points.

A brand style guide was also produced to ensure application was maintained both internally and externally. The visual identity was developed further with addition of new supporting graphics, designed with a new website design in mind, which were adopted quickly across other collateral.

Remaining agile during the design and creation of the responsive website, allowed us to meet KEW Technology’s changing objectives for the site. We reviewed the site structure based on the content provided by client-appointed technical copywriters and were able to identify issues with this that adversely affecting the customer journey. With this clearly explained, the client agreed to rationalise the copy, which allowed us to resolve the issue.

This approach enabled us to facilitate a very straightforward and engaging user interface to navigate a site that differentiated the client from others working in the same field of renewable technology, by clearly signposting, easy to understand, concise content, supported by engaging visuals and interactive content.
